I met Linsey and Andy in Napa recently for their engagement photography session. Back when they booked with me, Linsey told me she wanted to take her engagement photos in Napa where she grew up and with a backdrop of mustard flowers. I had been looking forward to this for months! I even kept myself up past 3am one night day dreaming about the lovely setting it was going to be. I am always thinking about photography! Anyway, the week of our session Linsey tells me the wineries are starting to cut down the mustard… ahhhhh! Well, even without all the mustard, we had a lot of fun traipsing around vineyards and grassy fields. I just adore this couple. They are so much fun, so down to earth and totally in love. I know I will have at least one more sleepless night, dreaming of poses for their country club wedding in September.
Linz and Andy, thank you for spending that Saturday evening with me – I hope you love the photos as much as I do!

Linsey’s mom had sent her a picture from her cell phone of this exact location and she then forwarded it to me. As soon as I saw it, I told her she would be laying in that grass. It’s so whispy and looks so soft. So, even in her stunning little blue dress, she did. I love a girl who isn’t afraid to get down and dirty!

A little bit o’ love…

And a kiss…

And a hug…

Andy has the most piercing gaze! No wonder Linsey fell in love with him!

I just love the “magic hour” evening light!

As we were heading back I saw this winery on the side of the road and had us pull off for a quick photo before the sun was too low. Andy is always in his shades so we incorporated that here. I love how casual this feels and I heart how Linsey’s hair fell ever so perfectly on the side of her face. Isn’t it weird the little things we notice?

And we finished our session up with a couple of photos with flash to bring out the color of the sun set sky…

And then, of course, I cannot forget the ring. The poppy was just laying there, I promise![]()

A funny little story. A rather big bumble bee must have fallen in love with Andy’s good looks because at our second to last location (the one where Andy has his shades on) it would NOT leave him alone. He tried to get away from it and it was constantly right by his side. We were all cracking up! I wanted to take more photos at this location but this bee would not go away. So, of course I had to get a photo of it. See the little black dot behind him? You can see it against the car door… too funny!
