My brother recently asked his girlfriend of several years to marry him. Brian is actually my step brother, but I hate saying “step” so he’s just my brother. We’ve been family since I was 11 years old when my mom married his dad. We got to see each other only a few times growing up because we lived in separate households and life took us different directions but there was still always a connection. He’s the younger of my (step) dad’s two sons, and finally found the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
At our recent family reunion, Temera, Brian, myself and my hubby John (my super-duper-voice-activated-reflector-holder), ran across the street from my Aunt’s house to an elementary school for a mini engagement session. It worked out perfectly. We spent about 30 minutes exploring the grounds and stopping at cute spots. They would kiss when I told them to kiss and cuddle when I said cuddle. They were great to work with.
This was actually the first time I’ve ever met Temera and let me tell you I could tell she’s a sweetheart right from the start. She’s sweet and reserved and has a beautiful heart. She’s the kind of people I like to have in my life. Life has thrown these two a few curve balls but they’ve made it through, brighter than they began, and I couldn’t be happier how things are turning out for them. Brian recently accepted Christ into his life and it was that same day he realized he wanted to make their relationship “official” by proposing marriage. What an amazing day that must have been for him (and her of course)! My heart goes out to these two and I’m so proud of them and their accomplishments. Brian and Temera are tying the knot in just a few weeks – August 7th! They are planning just a sweet little family affair in a teeny town called Wilseyville and I am so honored they wanted me to photograph their special day.
Congratulations you two! (And welcome to the family Temera!)
