Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a shot list for my wedding?

The only list I need is for family formals so no one is missed. The rest of the wedding will be documented as it unfolds. Art is unique to each client because honest moments are not recreated. Aesthetically speaking, if your Pinterest board looks like my portfolio, then we could be a perfect match.

Do you charge a travel fee?

I do not charge a travel fee for all weddings within 200 miles of the 95661 zip code.  For weddings outside this range, I will ask for either a reasonable fee or a night stay at a local hotel.  The hotel options keeps me fresh and well-rested for your day, especially for an early start.  Please inquire for destination weddings.

Do you edit all my photos?

After your wedding I carefully go through all your images and eliminate the outtakes (eyes closed, not in focus, or when I caught you mid-sneeze) and duplicates of the same image. All the remaining images that are included in the final set are edited.  My editing style is more on the natural side;  I aim for timeless images and do not over-edit.  I correct for exposure, contrast, and have a few extra settings I apply to create my signature style.  All images are delivered in color with a select number of images converted to black and white, at my discretion, and included with the color equivalent.

How and when do I receive my photos?

Your wedding images will be available on a personal, password-protected event site within 4-6  weeks after your wedding.  All of my wedding collections include the files from your wedding delivered on custom USB.  Portrait session images will be available within 2 weeks after your session.  Images will be available for digital download if purchased.

How many images will be included in the final set?

The digital camera age has allowed us the opportunity to take a lot of images and the software to be able to sift through them relatively easily.  Though we are taking hundreds of images (thousands for weddings!) this certainly doesn’t mean you’ll want to look through each one!  I carefully screen and cull through all my photo sessions and weddings, narrowing down to the best images that showcase your day, details and loved ones.  After removing the duplicates, out-of-focus, blinks, and those of you mid-sneeze, I generally deliver 30-60 for each standard 1 hour photo session and average 100 images per hour of wedding coverage.

What are the payment options for weddings?

I offer three payment options for wedding or event collections.  The 50/50 option: 50% due at the time of scheduling, 50% due 30 days prior to your wedding or event.  The monthly payment option: your balance divided into monthly payments with the final payment due the month before your wedding.  Pay in full option: 100% due at the time of scheduling.  With this option, I give you a $250 credit that can be used toward any product or service we offer.  All payments can be processed online.  I accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express and personal check.

What are your rates? What do your wedding photography collections include?

I have several wedding photography collections and can create a customize collection to fit your day.  No matter which one you chose, all of my collections include at least 8 hours wedding day coverage, second photographer, complimentary engagement session, wedding album and a personal, password-protected event site with your wedding images and a custom USB with your completed files.  I feel the most important thing is to hire the photographer whose work you absolutely love and with whom you feel 100% comfortable.  You can add things like parent albums, custom thank you cards, save the date cards, either before or after your wedding. I also offer guest books and a variety of art options to grace your walls.  View my pricing page here.
