An Amazing Wedding in Jamaica | Alexis & Christian | Part 1

When Alexis contacted me to inquire about her engagement photography last July, she was considering myself and another photographer.  I cannot tell you how happy I was that she selected me and that I’ve gotten the opportunity to get to know her and Christian.  During their engagement session in Old Sacramento I learned they were planning on getting married at the Beaches Resort in Negril, Jamaica in November and (lightbulb!) I was like “take me!!”  Well, budgets are of course the first thought, and they were originally thinking they’d just go with the photographer provided at the resort.  After they saw their photos from their engagement, they considered more heavily finding room for me in their wedding funds.  Having someone come along, that you know you can trust, who will protect your most cherished moments and create amazing images and art for you (something that hotel staff cannot), became a necessity for them.  John and I were soon booked on our first Caribbean trip!  (We created an actual vacation out of it – when in Rome Jamaica, why not?

So, the four of us met up for dinner before the trip (so our man’s could meet) and Alexis and I a few additional times as well.  All the while constantly texting about this or that (I love being there for my brides) until finally we were all hot and sticky in the humid Jamaican weather and the day of their wedding arrived.  The images below are part one of their beautiful wedding.  You can view part two here.  I hope this gives you at least just a small taste of what their day was like – I will forever have fond memories of their wedding, how I am now treated as part of the family, and thankful that were we able to become such amazing friends.  I love you guys!

Resort: Beaches Negril, Jamaica
Dress: Custom designed at Miosa Bridal
Flowers, catering, cake: Beaches

The dress was custom designed just for Alexis…

Her hand made bracelet and necklace were ordered from Etsy.

Another handmade treasure, these beautifully beaded thongs were made and gifted by Christian’s aunt…

A little thank you gift for the parents…

Channeling his inner model and doing a darn good job at it…

Alexis did her own hair(!!) – it was a bit of a stressor for her that morning but it turned out just beautifully…

What you don’t see here between these moments is when I tried to soothe her stress by telling her how beautiful she looked and how the day will be amazing.  I don’t know who started first, but we both are ultra sensitive and empathetic to other’s feelings, and we both started crying!  Dumb girls lol (xo)

See!  You’re stunning!

We had a bit of time before their ceremony so we took advantage of the tropical surroundings…

And one of my all-time favorite images ever…

and this one too…
